On August 19, 2025, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Interdiction Team Urban Unit was conducting a license checkpoint in the area of NC Hwy 22/42 & Clipwood Rd. in Bennett. A vehicle approached the checkpoint, and Detectives asked the driver to pull to the side of the road for further investigation. As the Detectives approached the passenger side of the vehicle, two handguns were observed concealed between the passenger seat and the center console. All occupants were detained for officer safety. During a probable cause search of the vehicle, Detectives located and seized three firearms, along with fentanyl, marijuana, and items of drug paraphernalia. As a result, Aaron Scott Chrisco and Kaleb Clay Dixon were placed under arrest and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where the magistrate found probable cause for the charges, as follows:
Aaron Scott Chrisco was charged with felony possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, misdemeanor possession of marijuana up to ½ oz, misdemeanor possession of marijuana paraphernalia, and two counts of carrying a concealed gun. He was given a $15,000 secured bond with a first appearance scheduled for August 20, 2025, in Randolph County District Court.
Kaleb Clay Dixon was charged with misdemeanor carrying a concealed gun and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. He was given no bond due to having pending criminal charges, and a first appearance was scheduled for August 20, 2025, in Randolph County District Court.
