On May 15, 2025, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Prospect St., Archdale, in reference to a larceny that had already occurred. Upon arrival, the complainant provided information and evidence of the items stolen.
Following an investigation, charges were sought against Matthew Charles Welsh and Christian Elijah Kennedy for felony larceny and felony possession of stolen goods. The magistrate found probable cause for the charges and issued warrants for arrest.
On June 16, 2025, Kennedy was located in Guilford County, arrested, and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where he was served his warrant and was issued a $2,000 secured bond. A court date was set for July 14, 2025, in Randolph County District Court.
On August 13, 2025, Welsh was located in Lee County, arrested, and transported to the Lee County Detention Center, where he was served this warrant and was issued no bond, and a court date was set for August 15, 2025, in Randolph County District Court.
