On July 20, 2025, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to US Hwy 64 E, Ramseur, regarding the larceny of a Kaufman trailer that had already occurred.
After further investigation by the Criminal Interdiction Team Urban Unit, a suspect was developed, and the Kaufman trailer was located and recovered in Moore County the same day.
On July 25, 2025, charges were sought against Anderson Stewart Townsend for felony larceny, felony possession of stolen goods, and felony obtain property by false pretense. The magistrate found probable cause to issue warrants for arrest. Townsend was later located, arrested, and served with his warrants by Moore County Sheriff’s Office. He was given a $10,000 secured bond with a first appearance set for August 4, 2025, in Randolph County District Court.
