On June 12, 2025, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on Coleridge Rd., Ramseur. The driver was identified as Sir Olan Shane Byers. During the investigative stop, it was discovered that Byers’ driver’s license had been revoked, and that he had two active orders for arrest for failure to appear. He was placed under arrest. During the search to arrest, methamphetamine and paraphernalia were located. He was transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where the magistrate found probable cause for felony possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. He was also served with his active orders for arrest and issued a $5,000 total secured bond. A first appearance was set for June 12, 2025, in Randolph County District Court.
Byers was also charged on citation for driving while license revoked, no liability insurance, and give/lend/borrow a license plate.
