On May 14, 2025, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Low Bridge Rd. in Liberty, in reference to a larceny that had already occurred at a construction site. On May 21, 2025, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Interdiction Team Urban Unit received information regarding a suspicious vehicle at the same location on Low Bridge Rd. While reviewing camera footage, Detectives observed an individual attempt to break into an enclosed trailer. After further investigation, charges were sought against Hunter Jackson Freeman for felony larceny, felony receive stolen goods/property, misdemeanor injure/tamper with a vehicle, and misdemeanor injury to personal property.
On May 21, 2025, Freeman was located, arrested, and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where he was served with his warrants for arrest. He was given a $7,000 secured bond plus EHA, with a first appearance set for May 22, 2025, in Randolph County District Court.
On June 3, 2025, while confined in the Randolph County Detention Center, Freeman was served with an additional warrant for felony larceny from a construction site that had occurred on May 16, 2025, on Wright Country Rd. in Ramseur. He received an additional $10,000 secured bond with a first appearance set for June 4, 2025, in Randolph County District Court.
On June 5, 2025, while still confined, Freeman was served with his orders for arrest for felony probation violation and received an additional $80,000 secured bond with a first appearance set for June 6, 2025, in Randolph County District Court.
