On March 3, 2025, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on NC Hwy 62, Thomasville. Upon approach, the driver was identified as Richard Allen Taylor. During a subsequent search, cocaine and paraphernalia were located. Taylor was arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where the magistrate found probable cause for felony possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. He was issued a $5,000 secured bond and a first appearance was set for March 4, 2025, in Randolph County District Court.
