On February 20, 2025, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Koonce Ct., Trinity, in reference to a domestic violence violation. Upon arrival, the victim explained that Wells Paul Blackburn, Jr., arrived at the residence without permission and entered through the rear door of the residence. Blackburn was told to leave but refused to do so. When the victim went to call 911, Blackburn took the phone, ran out the back door, and left in his vehicle.
During the investigation, deputies located Blackburn and placed him under arrest. They recovered the stolen phone and returned it to the victim. Blackburn was transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where the magistrate found probable cause for felony break/enter terrorize/injure, felony larceny, misdemeanor domestic violence protective order violation, misdemeanor interfere with emergency communication, misdemeanor possession stolen goods/property, misdemeanor domestic criminal trespass, misdemeanor injury to personal property. A bond was denied due to the charges being domestic in nature. A first appearance was set for February 21, 2025, in Randolph County District Court.
