On January 23, 2025, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Bachelor Creek
Road in reference to a 911 hang-up. Upon arrival, the caller was engaging in a dispute with a male subject, who was later identified as Dementri Kaream Martin, who is a convicted felon. During a subsequent search, a handgun was located. Following the investigation, he was transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where the magistrate found probable cause for felony possession of a firearm by a felon. He received a secure bond of $5,000 and a first appearance was set for January 24, 2025, in Randolph County District Court.
During the booking process, Martin was found to have an illegal substance in his possession. Additional charges were sought against Martin for felony possession of a controlled substance on prison/jail premises and felony possession of a Schedule II controlled substance. The magistrate issued an additional $5,000 secured bond.
