On October 9, 2024, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a possible sex offense upon a minor. Following an investigation of the allegations, Criminal Investigation Detectives sought charges against Darrin Jewel Nichols for felony indecent liberties with child and misdemeanor sexual battery.
On November 27, 2024, Nichols was located, arrested, and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where he was served the warrants. The magistrate issued a $25,000 secured bond and a first appearance was set for December 2, 2024, in Randolph County District Court.
