On October 16, 2024, the Randolph County Sheriff's Office responded to Hollow Tree Dr., Liberty, in reference to an agency assist. The victim reported trading an enclosed trailer for a boat and jet ski from Zebediaz Robert Cox. Shortly after the trade, the victim learned that the items had been reported stolen. The Kingston Police Department then entered the enclosed trailer as stolen from the victim. The offender was reported to live in Randolph County at a Hollow Tree Dr. address. Upon arrival, deputies located the trailer attached to the offender’s vehicle. The trailer was released to the victim and the truck was seized for additional investigation due to it being used in multiple fraud/larcenies inside and outside of Randolph County. Cox was not at the residence at this time.
Charges were sought on Cox for felony possession of stolen goods/property.
On November 1, 2024, Cox was located in Guilford County, arrested, and transported to the Guilford County Detention Center where he was served with his warrant. Bond was not authorized due to the pretrial integrity act. A court date was set for January 27, 2025, in Randolph County District Court.
