On November 4, 2024, Randolph County Sheriff's Office Deputies patrolling the area of US Hwy 220 Bus. S., observed a vehicle at an area business parking lot and investigated further. Upon approach, they encountered Harvey Alexander Hill, Jr., who initially gave a false name. It was also determined that Hill had an outstanding order for arrest. He was placed under arrest but while attempting to place handcuffs on Hill, he resisted. During a subsequent search, an illegal substance, paraphernalia, and a concealed handgun were located.
He was transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where he was served his outstanding Order For Arrest. Additionally, he was charged on a magistrate order for felony possession of Schedule I controlled substance, misdemeanor resist public officer, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, and misdemeanor carrying a concealed gun. Hill was given a $300,000 secured bond on his outstanding process and no bond for the magistrate's order. A first appearance was set for November 5, 2024, in Randolph County District Court.
