On October 4, 2024, the Randolph County Sheriff's Office Sex Offender Registry Detective became aware that a registered sex offender, Mark Anthony Elliott, had failed to notify the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office of his new address within three business days as required by North Carolina law.
Charges were sought and the magistrate found probable cause to issue a warrant for felony fail to report a new address as a sex offender
On October 22, 2024, Elliott was located, arrested, and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where he was served with his warrant. He was issued a $20,000 secured bond. A first appearance was set for October 23, 2024, in Randolph County District Court.
