On July 26, 2024, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Patterson Grove Rd., Ramseur, to collect information regarding a vehicle theft.
Later, during the same shift, deputies located the stolen vehicle on N. Staley St., in Staley. During the investigation, the driver was identified as Benjamin Hunter Bowman. He was arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where the magistrate found probable cause for charges of felony possession of a stolen motor vehicle, misdemeanor possession of stolen goods, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, and misdemeanor resist, obstruct, delay a public officer. Bowman was given no bond due to him being out on bond for other pending charges and a first appearance was set for July 29, 2024, in Randolph County District Court.
