On May 31, 2024, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on US Hwy 220 S., Asheboro. During the investigation, it was determined that the passenger, Tricia Lauren Cranford had an active order for arrest and was placed under arrest. During the search to arrest, narcotics, a concealed weapon, and paraphernalia were located.
She was arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center. During the booking process, additional narcotics were located in her possession. The magistrate found probable cause for felony possession of a controlled substance on a jail/premise, misdemeanor carrying a concealed weapon, misdemeanor simple possession of schedule IV controlled substance, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. She was also served her outstanding process and issued a $7,500 total secured bond. A first appearance was set for May 31, 2024, in Randolph County District Court.
The driver was charged on citation for no operator license, no motorcycle endorsement, no liability insurance, exceeding safe speed, allow motor vehicle with no registration, and reckless driving want/disregard.
