On May 14, 2024, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to US Hwy 311, Sophia, for a property special check due to a report of a suspicious person in the area earlier. Upon arrival at the address, deputies observed doors open and broken windows in the house. No one was inside the residence, but blood droplets were located throughout the residence where the suspect had likely suffered a laceration. The homeowner arrived and described the suspicious person seen earlier. Upon checking the property, the victim advised that a scooter and a firearm were missing. The Crime Scene Investigation Unit responded to process the scene while deputies conducted their investigation.
Later in the day, deputies of the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Pine Ridge Dr., Trinity, in reference to found property.
