On May 1, 2024, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Runway Drive, Sophia, in reference to a family fight. Upon arrival, the caller reported Bobby Lee Moore had been acting abnormal and was concerned. Deputies located Moore inside the residence when he refused to exit to talk to deputies. During the encounter, Moore assaulted deputies and was then arrested. He was transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where he went before the magistrate, who found probable cause for two counts felony assault on a law enforcement officer/public officer inflicting serious injury, misdemeanor resisting public officer, and misdemeanor communicating threats. He received a secure $10,000 bond. A first appearance was set for May 2, 2024, in Randolph County District Court.
