On April 15, 2024, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Highway Interdiction Team conducted a traffic stop for minor violations on I-85 in Randolph County. During the traffic stop, a subsequent search was conducted and detectives located a firearm along with marijuana. After further investigation, it was discovered that the firearm that was located, had been reported stolen out of Randolph County. As a result, the driver of the vehicle, Luis Roberto Amador-Aguirre, was placed under arrest and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center. The magistrate found probable cause for the charges of Felony Possession Stolen Firearm, Misdemeanor Carrying Concealed Gun, and Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana up to ½ oz. He received a $3,000 secured bond with a first appearance set for April 16, 2024, in Randolph County District Court.
