On December 6, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff's Office took a report for a victim reporting a stolen motor vehicle.
During the investigation, Detectives discovered that the vehicle had been involved in a traffic accident and was abandoned on Crestview Church Rd. in Asheboro.
Following a lengthy investigation, charges were sought against Phillip Daniel Boroughs for felony possession of a stolen motor vehicle, and the magistrate found probable cause to issue a warrant for arrest.
On March 17, 2024, Boroughs was located, arrested, and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where he was served his outstanding warrant. Bond was denied and a first appearance was set for March 18, 2024, in Randolph County District Court.
