On February 27, 2024, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Vice and Narcotics Enforcement Team (VNET) conducted a traffic stop on N. Main St. in Franklinville. After further investigation, a K-9 was deployed and alerted on the vehicle. A probable cause search was conducted, and Detectives located and seized a trafficking amount of Opiates. As a result, charges were later sought on Robert Russell Lee for two counts of Trafficking in Opium and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. He was apprehended on March 7, 2024, and transported to Randolph County Detention Center where he was served his warrant for arrest. He received a $45,000 secured bond with a first appearance set for March 8, 2024, in Randolph County District Court.
