On January 10, 2024, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Sex Offender Registry Detective was notified that James Wesley Gray, a registered sex offender, had been seen in an area public library and a church with a preschool, which is a violation. Charges were sought against Gray for felony sex offender on child premises and the magistrate found probable cause to issue a warrant for his arrest.
January 11, 2024, Gray was located, arrested, and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where he was served the warrant. He was issued a $25,000 secured bond and a first appearance was set for January 11, 2024, in Randolph County District Court.
