On September 11, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to a larceny/theft call for service on Clayton Street in Archdale. Upon arrival, the victim stated that an unknown offender stole a spare tire and a scissor jack from the trunk area of a vehicle on-site on September 9, 2023, at approximately 7:30 p.m. Surveillance video was provided.
Following an investigation, charges were sought against Michael James Williams and the magistrate found probable cause for felony break or enter a motor vehicle and misdemeanor larceny.
On January 1, 2024, Williams was located, arrested and transported to the Guilford County Detention Center where he was served the outstanding warrant. The magistrate issued a $5,000 secured bond and a first appearance was set for February 19, 2024, in Randolph County District Court.
