On December 5, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Thayer Rd., Trinity, in reference to a structure fire per the request of the local fire department.
Following an investigation by the Fire Marshall’s office and the Sheriff’s Office, Aubrey William Baker, Jr., who initially gave a false name, was arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where the magistrate found probable cause for felony burning other buildings and misdemeanor Resisting Public Officer. He was not given a bond due to him being out already on a pre-trial release. Baker was also served an outstanding Order for Arrest and was given a $20,000 secured bond. A first appearance was set for December 6, 2023, in Randolph County District Court.
