On November 21, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Hanner Rd., Randleman, at the request of EMS. Upon arrival, EMS personnel stated that the subject, Tyler Ray Toodle, was holding his side as if he was in pain but would not speak. When deputies approached, he began speaking and responding to the questions EMS. However, Toodle became combative, assaulting one firefighter and attempting to assault another.
Deputies took Toodle into custody and was subsequently evaluated by EMS. Mr. Toodle made several threats to EMS and law enforcement during this incident. He was transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where the magistrate found probable cause for three counts of felony assault and physical injury to emergency personnel, misdemeanor communicating threats, misdemeanor resisting public officer, and misdemeanor assault on a government official and received no bond. A first appearance was set for November 22, 2023, in Randolph County District Court.
