On November 15, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Sunrise Ave.., Franklinville, in reference to an assault. Upon arrival, deputies located a victim who had visible injuries. Following the investigation, Kevin Wayne Hayes was arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where the magistrate found probable cause for felony assault by strangulation, misdemeanor assault on a female, and misdemeanor false imprisonment. He was issued a $5,000 secured bond and a first appearance was set for November 16, 2023, in Randolph County District Court.
