On October 2, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Kidd Rd., Asheboro in reference to an armed person. Upon arrival, the reported that Kenneth Lewis Lewallen had assaulted and threatened her while holding her against her will for several hours in the residence. When she was able to escape, she called 911. Randolph County EMS responded, and the victim was transported to an area hospital for further evaluation. Lewallen was not located at the time.
Charges were sought against Lewallen for felonious restraint, misdemeanor assault on a female, and misdemeanor communicating of threats. The magistrate found probable cause to issue the warrants.
On October 4, 2023, Lewallen was located by the Criminal Apprehension Team, arrested, and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where he was served his outstanding warrants. Bond was denied due to the charges being domestic in nature. A first appearance was set for October 5, 2023, in Randolph County District Court.
