In March 2026, members of the Invictus Task Force initiated an investigation related to multiple Cybertips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. During the course of the investigation, James Douglas Metcalf was identified as a suspect.
On March 26, 2026, the Invictus Task Force charged James Douglas Metcalf with ten (10) counts of Felony Second- Degree Sexual Exploitation of a Minor. The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office assisted the Task Force by serving Metcalf at the Rowan County Detention Center, where the magistrate issued no bond and set a first appearance in Alamance County District Court for March 30, 2026. The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office, Invictus Task Force representatives.
