On December 17, 2025, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office received information of a possible sex offense upon a minor. Following an investigation by the Criminal Investigations Division of the allegations, charges were sought against Steven Richard Kassebaum for felony indecent liberties with a child. The magistrate found probable cause and issued a warrant for arrest.
On March 3, 2026, Kassebaum was located by the Criminal Apprehension Team, arrested, and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where he was served his warrant and issued no bond. A first appearance was scheduled for March 4, 2026, in Randolph County District Court.
