During the booking process at the Randolph County Detention Center, officers located methamphetamine and marijuana concealed on Lynch’s person. Charges were sought for possession of a controlled substance in a confinement facility, felony possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of marijuana less than 1/2 oz. for which probable cause was found by the magistrate and a criminal summons was issued. A court date was set for July 25, 2022, in Randolph County District Court.
On July 5, 2022, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence on Spencer Road, Archdale, regarding a family fight. Upon arrival, deputies located Donald Robert Lynch, who had an outstanding criminal process out of Randolph County. As deputies, attempted to take him into custody, Lynch attempted to flee on foot but was quickly apprehended. He was then transported to the magistrate's office where probable cause was found for assault on a government official and resist/delay and obstruction. He was given a $10,000 secured bond and a first appearance was set for July 5, 2022, in Randolph County District Court. He was also served his Order for Arrest for failure to comply with the terms and conditions of the Day Reporting Center Program and issued a $150,000 secured bond and a court date of July 11, 2022. He was then transported to the Randolph County Detention Center.
