The June meeting of the Randolph County Board of Commissioners included presentations from Randolph County School System and Trillium Health Resources to be considered for the 2025-2026 Budget. There was also loan approval to the Town of Seagrove, as well as approval for Randolph County Sheriff’s Office use of restricted funds.
Dr. Stephen Gainey, Superintendent of Randolph County School System, gave a presentation regarding requested funds for the coming fiscal year.
Anthony Ward, Regional Vice President for Trillium Health Resources, gave an update on services provided in Randolph County and requested funds at the same level as the previous fiscal year.
Mayor David Fernandez from the Town of Seagrove requested from the Board of Commissioners a $250,000 loan to assist with the required upgrades to the Luck’s Cannery to host upcoming events. The term of the loan would be one year, as the Town anticipates receiving grant funding to offset the request. The Board of Commissioners unanimously approved the request.
Lt. Col. Steven Nunn with Randolph County Sheriff’s Office requested the use of restricted funds for the purchase of software and non-lethal tactical BolaWraps. These items were approved unanimously by the commissioners for purchase.
