Commissioner Meeting Recap for February 9, 2026 (rescheduled due to winter weather)
The February meeting of the Randolph County Board of Commissioners included policy updates and requests.
A few highlights:
- The Child Fatality Report for 2025 was presented by Randolph County Public Health Director Tara Aker.
- Randolph County Human Resources Director Jill Williams requested approval of proposed changes to the Employee Policies and Procedures Manual; approved
- Kim Heinzer, Director of Randolph County Planning & Zoning, presented suggested changes to the Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) per the Planning & Zoning Board. After discussion, the Commissioners asked for minor changes to be made before considering approval; tabled to the March 2nd meeting
- County Manager Zeb Holden brought forth for consideration of a budget amendment for the non-profit organization NC ROOTED Community Agriculture to manage the Food Hub at the Agricultural Center. The Commissioners approved the request to provide a $74,100 grant of Strategic Planning funds for the project.
- Assistant County Manager/Finance Officer Will Massie shared with the commissioners the budget adoption schedule for the upcoming fiscal year; approved

The next regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners is set for 6pm on Monday, March 2, 2026.
