The July meeting of the Randolph County Board of Commissioners included several special recognitions. There was also the presentation of FY 2024/2025 Tax Settlement Report and Classification Plan for FY 2025/2026. Randolph County Emergency Services requested funding for vehicles and contract staffing services. The County’s America 250 NC Committee presented their logo and shared updates. The Board of Commissioners also reviewed preliminary policies and procedures for the Agricultural Center. Lastly, a construction change order was presented for the Agricultural Center.
A few highlights:
- Uwharrie Charter Academy Baseball Team recognized and congratulated for winning third straight State Championship
- Retiring Major Kevin Walton and Sergeant Tammy Brady were honored for years of service at Randolph County Sheriff’s Office
- Tax Administrator Debra Hill presented FY 2024-2025 Tax Settlement Report; Board of Commissioners approved Charge to Tax Collector
- Human Resources Director Jill Williams presented FY 2025-2026 Classification Plan, including 3% COLA, new positions, and reclassifications; plan approved
- Chief Donovan Davis (Emergency Services) requested approval to purchase four ambulances; approved
- Chief Davis also requested approval to purchase three budgeted Chevrolet Tahoes, with old vehicles to be repurposed; approved
- Deputy Chief Jared Byrd (Emergency Services) requested funds for a 911 Communications staffing contract, which was approved
- Mac Whatley, Chairman of America 250 NC Committee, presented logo of Revolutionary Randolph and shared updates
- Agricultural Center Coordinator Taylor Wright presented draft contracts and policies related to booking, rentals, and rates of the new facility
- Engineer Paxton Arthurs requested a $43,000 budget amendment for a change order at the Agricultural Center, which was approved
