INFORMATION RELEASE

On February 5, 2024 at 4:43 am the Randolph County Sheriff's Office responded to Mt. Shepherd Rd., Asheboro, in reference to a possible gunshot wound. When Deputies arrived on scene, they spoke with the victim who stated he was on his way to work when he observed a vehicle stopped in the roadway and an unknown female standing near the trunk of the vehicle. The victim stopped to ask the female if she needed any assistance when the unknown male driver of the vehicle shot at him. The victim was subsequently transported to Moses Cone where he was treated and released for a minor injury. The victim described the suspect vehicle as being a medium gray in color four-door sedan with a brake light on the spoiler. He stated the female was possibly a Hispanic female with curly shoulder-length light brown hair wearing dark clothing.
