Cold Case Spotlight
The purpose of this web page is to remind the citizens of Randolph County, with a brief snapshot of the incident and a photo, of unsolved cases. The hope is that by seeing and reading these profiles, someone, somewhere, remembers the victims and new leads are generated from tips. The following nine unsolved cases are being reviewed and worked by criminal investigators with homicide and cold case investigations training. There is no set timetable or expiration date on these cases, or any other death investigation that remains unsolved.
The Randolph County Sheriff's Office would like to thank Randolph County Crime Stoppers and the Office of the Governor for offering cash rewards for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the individual(s) who committed these crimes.
1994 Unsolved Homicide - Bill Davis
William Ray "Bill" Davis, age 40, was found shot to death in his Cedar Square home during the early hours of May 1, 1994. A female called 911 after making entry and finding Davis in his bedroom. The Office of the Governor had offered a reward in the amount of $5,000. A Randolph County Crime Stoppers reward is currently being offered in the amount of $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible.

2001 Unsolved Homicide - Judy Rawlings
Judy Carol Rawlings, age 16, was reported missing from the family's Marsh Mountain Road home on October 5, 2001. A hunter found Rawlings' partially clothed body on October 19, 2001 in a field about a half-mile away off of Groom Road. Rawlings mother told deputies she was leaving for a doctor's appointment when she last saw her daughter about 7:30 am on October 3, 2001. Tony Ray Sierra Jr., age 18, told investigators he gave her a ride on a four-wheeler and left her at Farlow Oil Co. on October 4, 2001. The Office of the Governor had offered a reward in the amount of $5,000. A Randolph County Crime Stoppers reward is currently being offered in the amount of $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible.

2012 Unsolved Homicide - Tina Rook
Tina Mae Rook, age 35, was stabbed by an unknown person while in the gravel parking lot of Axiom America, located on Thompson Street on October 13, 2012. And later died from her injuries at the Hospital. Tina was last seen in the area of Clinton Avenue and Ridgeway Place in High Point around 2:10 pm. A witness said Rook got into a white single cab truck with an unknown male, 35 to 50 years old with brown, shaggy hair. A white pickup was seen entering and leaving Axiom America on video later that day. A Randolph County Crime Stoppers reward is currently being offered in the amount of $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible.

2017 Missing Person - Jimmy Isom
Jimmy Lee Isom, age 36, who has been missing from his residence on 650 Cable Creek Road, Asheboro, NC, since August 29, 2017. Isom was last seen driving a silver Dodge Charger with tinted windows in Asheboro, the day before his disappearance. Detectives are currently treating this case as an active homicide investigation. The Office of the Governor has recently offered a reward in the amount of $5,000.A Randolph County Crime Stoppers reward is currently being offered in the amount of $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible.

2017 Missing Person - Marchel Lee Williams
Crime Stoppers increased reward to $2,000 on July 21, 2021.
Randolph County Crime Stoppers is offering a $2,000 award to anyone providing information leading to whereabouts of Marchel Lee Williams, III. He was last seen on May 27, 2017, at his residence on Orlendo Drive, Asheboro. Mr. Williams is a 50-year-old white male, approximately 5'8" tall, 160 lbs, with short black hair and brown eyes.

2018 Missing Person - Joshua Derek Trent
Randolph County Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 award to anyone providing information leading to whereabouts of Joshua Derek Trent. The Randolph County Sheriff's Office needs your assistance in locating Joshua Derek Trent. Trent was last seen walking in the area of Mendenhall Road ext. and Highway 62 in Trinity, NC on September 17, 2018, following a dispute. Trent is described as a white male, 30 years old, approximately 5'11", 150 lbs., blue eyes, brown hair, "MAT" tattooed on his right shoulder, and "Trent" tattooed on his upper back.
According to Trent's family it is not uncommon for Trent to leave for extended periods of time, but not without communicating with them. Family and friends have not seen or heard from Trent since September 17, 2018.

2020 Missing Person - Victor Cannales Castillo
On June 19, 2020, the Randolph County Sheriff's Office received a report of a Missing Person (and this photo). The missing person was identified as Victor Cannales Castillo, listed as a 53 year-old, Hispanic male, who is approximately 5'5" tall and 150 pounds. Unknown clothing description. Castillo was last seen in the area of Archdale, NC, in February 2020. He has ties to Archdale and High Point, NC, and Georgia.
