Adoption & Foster Care
The Randolph County Department of Social Services facilitates adoptive placements regardless of race, age, or national origin of the child or adoptive family.

Adult Services
Adult Services provides an array of social work services to elderly and disabled adults in need of protection, in-home services, placement, etc. Services are provided to adults living in the community and those living in adult care homes and nursing facilities.

Aid to the Blind
Assists visually impaired individuals with independent living services which include adjustment to loss of vision, training in self-help skills and techniques, training in home management, and more.

Community Care of North Carolina / Carolina ACCESS
Medicaid's primary care case management program that contracts medical providers to deliver and coordinate recipient health care.

Child Care
Subsidized child care services assist families with poverty level incomes so they can afford child care services which offer a quality early childhood education and therefore, will increase the chances for children to be healthy and succeed socially and academically.

Child Protective Services
Investigates reports of child abuse, neglect and dependency. Ongoing services are provided to families where the need for protective services is confirmed.

Community Alternatives for Disabled Adults
Gives older and disabled adults the option of remaining in their own homes by preventing or delaying the need for nursing home placement.

Crisis Intervention
The Crisis Intervention Program (CIP) is a Federally-funded program that provides emergency assistance to eligible households that are in a heating or cooling related emergency.

Emergency Assistance
Emergency Assistance aids families with sporadic emergency needs such as an eviction notice or notice of a pending cut-off of water service. Payments are made directly to the vendors. In order to qualify there must be an eligible child in the home.

Family & Children's Medicaid
Assists low income families and their minor children with medical costs.

Family Services
Provides information and determines eligibility for child care assistance programs. Also, provides information and referral services to families in need of emergency food, medical transportation, and other financial assistance programs.

Food & Nutrition Services (Food Stamps)
Food and Nutrition Services (FNS) is a federal food assistance program that helps low-income families.

Foster Care & Adoptions
Provides services to children living in temporary substitute homes because of abuse, neglect or dependency.

Fraud - Program Integrity
The Program Integrity staff, also known as the Fraud Investigators, are devoted to ensuring that payments in the income maintenance programs are accurate and that fraud, waste, and/or program abuse are identified and prevented.

Long Term Care & Special Assistance
Long Term Care Medicaid programs assist recipients with paying their cost of extended care in a hospital or medical facility.

Low Income Energy Assistance Program
The Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIEAP) is a Federally-funded program that provides for a one-time vendor payment to help eligible households pay their heating bills.

Volunteers - individuals and groups - provide assistance to families referred by the Department of Social Services (DSS). Their efforts enable DSS to serve more families than could be served through traditional DSS programs.

Work First Family Assistance provides financial assistance and employment services to parents and their children.
