Services
The Animal Shelter receives animal law violation reports, provides rabies control and accepts and houses lost, found, abandoned and unwanted domestic animals and animals held for rabies observation.
Animal Services accepts anonymous reports of suspected or witnessed animal cruelty and neglect.

Wildlife
Animal Services does not have authority to handle or remove wildlife other than rabies suspects. Injured or orphaned wildlife information and licensed rehabilitators can be found at the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission.

Dead Animals
Animal Services does not remove dead animals. If a dead animal is found on or near a roadway please contact Division of Highways at 336-318-4050.
